Details

The Time Machine #1370 A scientist, known only as the "Time Traveller," invents a time machine and uses it to travel hundreds of thousands of years into the future in the year 802,701, where he discovers the childlike Eloi and the hideous underground Morlocks. The future turns out to be a dying world where humanity is divided into two classes: the graceful, but idle Eloi who inhabit the idyllic surface, and the Morlocks, ugly nocturnal creatures who live underground. It seemed as if they dwelled together in harmony. The Time Traveller thought he could study them and return to his own time -- until he discovered that his avenue of escape had been stolen.
