Details

Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott #0888, 1483 Little Women, follows the four March sisters—pretty Meg, tomboy, author-to-be Jo; shy, frail Beth; and spoiled Amy—as they mature, devoted to each other and their struggles to survive during the Civil War. They live in poverty with their mother Marmee while their father is away fighting in the war. Despite having little money, the girls keep their spirits up with writing, gardening, acting in plays, and spending time with wealthier pals. The story gets more complex as their wealthy friend Laurie becomes their adoptive brother, as the girls deal with Meg's wedding, Beth's life-threatening illness, and fears for their father's safety.
