Charlotte's Web #1595 Mr. John Arable's sow gives birth to a litter of piglets which includes a runt. His 9 year old daughter Fern begs him for it as a pet and names him Wilbur. Then he is sold to her uncle, Homer Zuckerman. Soon Wilbur gets lonely. He meets Charlotte, the gray spider. When Wilbur finds out he is going to be killed at Christmas, he turns to Charlotte for help. Charlotte has the idea of writing words in her web (such as "SOME PIG"), reasoning that if she can make Wilbur famous, he will not be killed. Thanks Charlotte's, Wilbur goes to the county fair and wins a prize!
