Math in Focus: The Singapore Approach Grade K Second Semester Homeschool Package Math in Focus combines the Singapore approach to math with a configuration that is easy to use and understand. Available for Kindergarten through 5th grade, Math in Focus: The Singapore Approach is the United States edition of Singapore’s most widely used program. Math in Focus has numerous instructional advantages that make it a successful program. Carefully paced instruction focuses on teaching fewer math topics per year to a level of mastery. Additionally, consistent use of visual models and manipulatives bridge the concrete and the abstract. Instruction is centered around problem solving, with multiple models that help students visualize and understand math concepts. This set is designed to be used during the second half of the year. The teacher's guide features objectives, materials needed, and a list of page numbers; teaching instructions are provided in a step-by-step, listed format that's incredibly easy to see and read. Reduced student pages are given with the correct answers overlaid. The workbooks accompany the "Big Book", and provide opportunities for practice, assessment, and skill-development. Brightly colored pages and cheery illustrations give kids a fun atmosphere to work in. For kindergarten, consumable Student Books Part 1 and Part 2 are provided instead of a Student Book and Student Workbook.
