Math in Focus: The Singapore Approach Grade 6 (Course 1B) 2nd Semester Homeschool Kit. Through multi-day lessons and minimal repetition from year to year, Math in Focus students learn concepts in depth to mastery. An emphasis on visual learning ensures that students understand how procedures work and can apply them in problem-solving situations. Math in Focus aligns to the Common Core Domains to prepare students for algebra and higher-level mathematics with focus on ration, geometry, number, statistics, and expressions. Course 1B includes a Student Book and Teacher's Edition for one semester of study. Students should complete Course 1A for first semester study and then Course1B in order to complete a full year of study. The assessment book is sold separately and includes assessments for the full year. Optional components include the Blackline Activities book and the Extra Practice Books, sold separately. Course 1 is Recommended for Grade 6.
Teacher's Editions contain complete program support, including Chapter Overviews with math background, cross-curricular connections, and a planning guide. Student Books allow for age-appropriate and mathematically sound practice, assessment, and development of problem-solving and thinking skills.
Grade 6 extends the current K-5 program bringing the same focused and coherent approach to mathematics.
