California Early History includes four unique sections focused on Californians of Native American, Mexican, African and Asian descent in an effort to help students understand the people and cultures involved in California's history which led to the development of the State of California are more important than simply memorizing the dates of events.

New vocabulary words are introduced at the beginning of each section and students are expected to look them up in a dictionary and write a brief definition, which should then be reviewed and discussed by teachers and at home instructors to aid students in the understanding and retention of the words and their meanings.

Lessons are reinforced with maps, exercises, review questions and bonus activities. The Bonus Activities are included at the end of each section and require the student(s) to use addtional research and resources to complete.

California Early History is 90 pages, classroom reproducible and recommended for grades 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th.
