This Novel Unit Student Packet is designed to be used with the not-included So Far From the Bamboo Grove Novel Units Teacher's Guide# 10038, but may be used separately; the book, So Far From the Bamboo Grove#8728 is also not included and must be obtained separately.
A few pre-reading activities are included to gauge a student's familiarity with the context of the novel. Though Japanese, eleven-year-old Yoko has lived with her family in northern Korea all her life.
