Student Text is arranged chronologically and covers US history from the crossing to America by the first nations people up through 2005. Includes biography features, "history in your life" segments, "document-based readings" of primary documents, "civics connections," a "focus on economics," "Technology connections," maps, and "writing about history" sidebars. A timeline is also included at the beginning of each chapter. Chapters are complemented by the many photographs of people, artifacts, and landscapes of America. 802 pages, hardcover.

Student workbook complements the student text with multiple activities for each unit. A variety of exercises, including short answer, word-bank, multiple choice, crosswords, puzzles, and chart completions are included. 144 non-reproducible pages, softcover.

Teacher's Edition includes reduced-size reproductions of the student text, as well as the student workbook. Also includes answers to the review questions in the text as well as answers for the activity book and mastery tests which are grouped together in the back. Activities, lessons with scripted question, ELL/ESL strategies, notes on the sidebar elements, tips for differentiating instruction based on learning styles, and vocabulary/pronunciation helps will help homeschoolers construct a well-rounded lesson. 896 pages, hardcover. The included Parent Guide explains how to use the program's components. Please Note: The teacher's edition includes reduced-size reproductions of the unit mastery tests and quarter-size midterm and final mastery tests. These are intended to be printed off of the "Teacher's Resource Library" CD, which is not included in this homeschool kit but is referenced, as well as online elements and an audio CD that are integrated throughout the teacher's guide, but are not currently included by Pearson in this kit which has been restructured for homeschoolers.
